Influencer Insider Asia and Tips on How to Grow Your Followers Organically

Last Tuesday, thanks to Cloudbreakr, 11StreetMY, WebTVAsia, Creators Academy and PUC, I was invited as one of the panel speakers for the first Influencer Insider Asia. It was such a pleasure to be speaking with Vanessa Tevi and Ruby Lai. Both of them were so sweet!

In the panel session, we talked about how Influencers transformed marketing in the beauty industry. We touched on topics such as how to grow followers organically, how to work with brands and agencies, how to engage with followers effectively and more.

In this post, I’ll share two tips on how you can organically increase your followers on Instagram if you're just starting out or if you have a business profile to run.

Find Your Niche

Users who put out valuable content consistently tends to get followers consistently as well. Find a topic (or a few topics) that you like and that you can share with people. Some people constantly post beautiful photos, some post progress photos, some simply post their day-to-day life (but interesting in a sense that it is informative). Be creative! And don't be afraid to experiment until you find content that is unique to you that people would like. As you know, I'm currently interested in gardening, and I have a few instagrammers whose stories and posts I look forward to. If people look forward to what you post every day, you are on the right track.

Engage with Your Followers

Engaging with followers is important because people are more likely to remember you when they engage with you. This is especially important now with all the new algorithm implemented in our favourite social media platforms. The founder of one of my favourite beauty brands likes almost every photo that was tagged to her brand. She does this almost every day and has quite a lot of followers because of that. Instagram and other social media makes it really easy nowadays to engage with your followers. You just have to be sincere and also consistent with it.

Thank you again!
